A Former Chairman of the Confiscated Vehicles Committee (CVC), and a National Democratic Congress (NDC) activist, Carl Wilson has announced the formation of a new political Movement, Move Ghana, to fiercely challenge the main political parties in the country.

According to him, one of the key aims of the group is to canvass for nationwide support against the country’s current political system in a bid to unseat his former party, the NDC, while preventing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from tasting political power in the November polls.

[contextly_sidebar id=”7erwp5MqPPxCO30zeteKSjLQ1N6vZqZX”]He insisted that what the country needs now is a president who will be independent of any political party control.

Carl Wilson who was sacked by the late President Mills as Chairman of the Confiscated Vehicles Committee said his new political movement will champion the cause for this new type of governance system.

Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana on Tuesday, Mr. Wilson said Ghana’s political system “does not have checks and balances” hence making it difficult to rid it of corruption.

“It has created the absence of checks and balances in the system that is making it difficult for whoever cheats as president to rule with the powers granted to him by the constitution. So as I said it is not per se the one running but it is the system that we inherited which is the problem and which is ineffective. That is the system that I will urge the youth of this country to come together and say enough is enough and then we find a solution to elect an open president as the president of this country,” he added.
