President John Mahama has appointed Mrs. Mona Helen\u00a0Quartey as new Deputy Minister of Finance to replace Kweku Ricketts Hagan.<\/p>\n
This could be seen as the President\u2019s attempt to rebuild the support system at the ministry to help solve the country\u2019s current economic crisis.<\/p>\n
Last week the President appointed an economist\u00a0with the African Development Bank, Dr. John Kofi Baffoe as Technical Adviser to the Minister for Finance Seth Tekpeh.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Mona Helen Quartey specializes in Broad Treasury, Risk Management and Corporate Finance in the Corporate and Government environment.<\/p>\n
She also has enormous international experience in equity and debt raising in Africa, Europe and North America.<\/p>\n
Mrs Quartey also known to have strong structuring and negotiation skills honed over two decades of work experience in the Mining and Finance Industry.<\/p>\n
She previously worked with Citibank NA, and CitiCorp. Investment Services all in Maryland USA.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Quartey also worked with American Express Financial Advisors in Columbia, AshantiGold Company Limited and Ecobank Ghana.<\/p>\n
She has been a Non Executive Director of Merchant Bank (Ghana) Ltd. since July 2009.<\/p>\n
She holds a Masters in Business Administration, Finance and International Marketing from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada and a B.Sc in Planning from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Science and Technology, Ghana.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Mona Helen K. Quartey has served as a Partner of BVM Advisory Services.
\nMeanwhile Kweku Ricketts Hagan has been resigned and\u00a0is now the\u00a0Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry.<\/p>\n
