{"id":220345,"date":"2016-06-07T06:39:04","date_gmt":"2016-06-07T06:39:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=220345"},"modified":"2016-06-07T06:39:04","modified_gmt":"2016-06-07T06:39:04","slug":"meet-fra-the-band-that-pushed-saturday-live-beyond-the-limit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/06\/meet-fra-the-band-that-pushed-saturday-live-beyond-the-limit\/","title":{"rendered":"Meet Fra, the band that pushed Saturday Live beyond the limit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The average time that each of them has played a musical instrument is ten years.<\/p>\n<p>A year ago, they came together to form a band that was a mixture of different people with different backgrounds.<br \/>\n\u2018Fra,\u2019 in Twi, means \u2018to mix\u2019 and the group adopted the name to show the strength in the diversity that they are so proud of.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, June 4, they appeared on <strong>Citi FM<\/strong>\u2019s <strong>Saturday Live<\/strong>, which is hosted by Kojo Akoto Boateng.<\/p>\n<p>The show helps to catapult Ghana\u2019s talent in music and poetry into the limelight. It is broadcast live every Saturday, from 2pm to 4pm. Saturday\u2019s show also featured Nene Narh, Kojo Mensah Gavu, Robin Huw and Reynolds the Gentleman.<\/p>\n<p>For the first hour, these talented young men showcased their gifts in music and poetry. They began by paying tribute to the people who were lost in the June 3 2015 disaster. Then they moved on to play some great live music.<\/p>\n<p>At about three o\u2019clock, the \u201cFra\u201d band took over and thrilled listeners with some great sounds. They were so good that the show was extended to 5pm.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday\u2019s show was so exciting that a listener, Adwoa, drove to the studio just to see and to spend some time with the band that was doing so well.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cFra\u201d band released their first single, Dumsor, last week and has promised to release some more before the year ends.<\/p>\n<p>The band is signed onto the Vision Inspired Music record label.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013<\/p>\n<p>By: Jeffrey Owuraku Sarpong\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The average time that each of them has played a musical instrument is ten years.
