The Member of Parliament for Abetifi Constituency in the Eastern Region, Peter Wiafe Pepera, has died.<\/p>\n

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP reportedly died on Saturday afternoon at the 37 Military Hospital where he was on admission.<\/p>\n

His colleague Member of Parliament who spoke to citifmonline.com\u00a0<\/strong>but wishes to remain anonymous confirmed his demise.<\/p>\n

Unconfirmed reports say he suffered from a cardiac arrest. The 62-year old MP was once a minister in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration before joining the NPP in 2001.<\/p>\n

He was a Ranking Member on the Trade and Industry Committee in Parliament.<\/p>\n

The late MP celebrated his 62nd birthday on May 9, and died today, [Saturday], May 21.<\/p>\n

Peter Wiafe-Peprah has been described as a fun-loving person.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

He becomes the second NPP MP to have died in the Eastern Region, after Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu, who was stabbed to death <\/a><\/strong><\/span>at his home in Accra in February.<\/p>\n

In October 2015, NDC MP for Amenfi West in the Western Region John Gyetua also died<\/a><\/strong><\/span> at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra after a protracted illness.
