{"id":21534,"date":"2014-05-30T08:38:49","date_gmt":"2014-05-30T08:38:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=21534"},"modified":"2014-05-30T09:33:49","modified_gmt":"2014-05-30T09:33:49","slug":"president-mahama-sacks-local-govt-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/05\/president-mahama-sacks-local-govt-minister\/","title":{"rendered":"President Mahama sacks Local Gov&#8217;t minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President John Mahama has appointed Eastern Regional Minister, Julius Debrah, as Minister for Local Government and Rural Development in his latest ministerial reshuffle.<\/p>\n<p>It is unclear yet whether Mr Akwasi Oppong-Fosu \u00a0was relieved of his post because of the\u00a0 current waste management crisis in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The Local Government and Rural Development Ministry has also been in the news for awarding a contract under the National Street Naming project to an I.T firm, Subah Infosolutions.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Antwi Boasiako-Sekyere has been nominated to replace Julius Debrah in the Eastern Region.<\/p>\n<p>A statement from the Flagstaff House stated that former Deputy Chief of Staff, Alex Segbefia has also been nominated as a Deputy Minister for Defence.<\/p>\n<p>The President has also reassigned the following to new portfolios:<\/p>\n<p>Yaw Effah Baafi, Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources is now Deputy Minister for Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs.
