The Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo Addo has revealed that his campaign message for Ghanaians in the run up to the November elections will focus on job creation.

[contextly_sidebar id=”ePujEN4itgei7CsNonV3A5tFcShNFRqC”]Nana Addo contends that joblessness is one of the most serious challenges confronting Ghanaians today hence the need for a future NPP government to address it.

“There are no jobs, everywhere I go that is what the people tell me. We don’t have jobs… so the government to come[NPP] will work on it to change things in order to provide jobs in Ghana. We can do it. It has been done in Cote D’lvoire as I speak. People from different locations are going there in search of jobs. That is what they want us to do in Ghana.”

Nana Akufo Addo made these comments on his visit to the La Dadekotopon Constituency as part of his ongoing tour of the Greater Accra region.

He argued that the current economic situation had drastically reduced both the government and the private sector’s capacity to employ people.

NPP’s plan to tackle joblessness

In March 2015, the NPP outlined what it called a comprehensive ten-point plan to boost job creation and end the massive unemployment in Ghana.

Dr. Bawumia laid out this plan during a Lecture on the topic – ‘High Graduate Unemployment and the Employment Embargo, What is the Solution’ to students of the Kwame Nkrumah University College at a Public Lecture organized by the Economics Students Association.
