{"id":213476,"date":"2016-05-12T06:00:50","date_gmt":"2016-05-12T06:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=213476"},"modified":"2016-05-12T06:00:50","modified_gmt":"2016-05-12T06:00:50","slug":"schools-must-replace-old-electrical-wires-fire-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/05\/schools-must-replace-old-electrical-wires-fire-service\/","title":{"rendered":"Schools must replace old electrical wires \u2013 Fire Service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana National Fire Service has advised managers of the country&#8217;s boarding Senior High Schools (SHS) to replace old electrical wiring as an effective measure of preventing fire outbreak in schools.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Public Relations Officer of the Service, Bill Anaglatey, a study conducted by the Service in various schools show that the increasing number\u00a0of fire outbreaks in schools are caused by old electrical wires.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;yR1fQ7bDPtGgPEVxRKCy5Lo9kvYSSCNB&#8221;]Statistics from the Service further showed that five different Senior High Schools (SHS) <a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/04\/27\/24-students-injured-fire-incident-kumasi-technical-school\/\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>have experienced fire outbreak<\/strong><\/span><\/a> since the beginning of this year.<\/p>\n<p>These\u00a0include the Girls Dormitory of the Ghana Senior High School in Koforidua in the Eastern Region and the Administration Block of the Tuobodom Senior High School at\u00a0Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to<strong> Citi News<\/strong>, the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Service, Billy Anaglatey, called on school heads to replace old electrical wires\u00a0to prevent any major disaster.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt varies from one school to the other but looking at it, the trend detects that most of these fires were electrically connected.
