The Supreme Court on Thursday, May 5,\u00a0ordered the Electoral Commission to expunge<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0from the voters\u2019 register names of all persons who registered in the 2012 elections, with the National Health Insurance Card as a proof of identity.<\/p>\n The Supreme Court made the statement in its ruling in a case brought before it by a former National Youth Organizer of the People\u2019s National Convention (PNC), Abu Ramadan and one Evans Nimako, who were challenging the credibility of the current register.<\/p>\n In the wake of this recent ruling by the country\u2019s apex court directing the EC to clean the electoral roll, the EC in a statement said it will respect the directive <\/a><\/strong><\/span>from the court.<\/p>\n
