The Electoral Commission\u2019s (EC) limited voters\u2019 registration exercise will take off across various registration centres today [ Thursday], April 28, to May 8.<\/p>\n
The exercise, which is one of the major events ahead of the elections on November 7, seeks to register persons who have turned 18, as well as first time voters.<\/p>\n
About 1.2 million people to register <\/strong><\/p>\n The Chairperson of the EC, Charlotte Osei, has revealed that the Commission is expecting to register about \u00a01.2 million people.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”d8OJg3A9IAXQ2CfEvgUWj0q24HT2wMNh”]Charlotte Osei revealed this at the launch of the Commission\u2019s new logo and five-year strategic plan at the Best Western Premier Hotel in Accra on Tuesday.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are expecting to register about 1.2 million people, that is the maximum. On average , if we get good turnout, we should be looking at 38 people per registration centre per day,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n All is set for the exercise<\/strong><\/p>\n Mrs. Osei said the commission is also fully prepared for the exercise and has dispatched the \u00a0needed logistics across the country.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are pretty well prepared and we are confident that it will be successful.
