{"id":209169,"date":"2016-04-25T06:15:11","date_gmt":"2016-04-25T06:15:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=209169"},"modified":"2016-04-25T06:15:11","modified_gmt":"2016-04-25T06:15:11","slug":"lawyer-to-petition-chraj-over-assault-on-16yr-old-by-soldiers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/04\/lawyer-to-petition-chraj-over-assault-on-16yr-old-by-soldiers\/","title":{"rendered":"Lawyer to petition CHRAJ over assault on 16yr-old by soldiers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lawyer for the 16 year old boy who was allegedly brutalized by some five \u00a0soldiers, Francis Xavier Sosu, has served notice that a formal complaint would\u00a0be made to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ)\u00a0to investigate the matter.<\/p>\n<p>The sixteen year old boy, Christopher Bam, was severely battered\u00a0by the military officers at Tamale in the Northern Region for allegedly stealing a Tecno mobile phone.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;UKNtIroZcqGHvymFqKtLSfhCAeRnBm3e&#8221;]The victim has since been discharged by the Nsawam Government Hospital where he was receiving treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyer\u00a0Sosu of F-X Law and Associates says the boy has been referred to Clinical Psychology Clinic at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for post-traumatic stress disorder.<\/p>\n<p>He also hinted that he may drag the soldiers to court over their alleged abuse which has left the 16 year old with a damaged kidney.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We consider this as a violation of the rights of a civilian officer.
