X-Men: Days of Future Past has defeated Godzilla at the US box office, taking an estimated $91m (\u00a354m).<\/p>\n
With totals expected to top more than $110m (\u00a365m) over the Memorial Day weekend, the film has left last week’s number one movie in its wake.<\/p>\n
Brit director Gareth Edwards’ monster movie earned $31.4m (\u00a318.6m) bringing its total US tally to $149m (\u00a388.4m) since its release.<\/p>\n
Blended, starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, took the third spot.<\/p>\n
The rom-com, which sees Sandler and Barrymore reunite on the big screen for a third time, took a disappointing $14.2m (\u00a38.4m).<\/p>\n
Seth Rogen and Zac Efron comedy Neighbors took $14m (\u00a38.3m), taking it over the $100m (\u00a359.3m) in the US while The Amazing Spider-Man 2 rounded out the top five with $8m (\u00a34.7m)in its fourth weekend on release.<\/p>\n
