placed a curfew<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 after the clashes between some Muslim youth and the youth of the area, backed by the\u00a0Tafo Traditional Council, led to the death of one person.<\/p>\nMany others were left injured whiles property worth\u00a0thousands of cedis were\u00a0destroyed forcing the Interior Ministry to impose the curfew.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”t20zqtZ4TN2ffVthkxSzCcPx04JUUfto”]Following\u00a0the lifting of the curfew,\u00a0Citi News’<\/strong> checks revealed that the market areas, which use to be\u00a0dormant,\u00a0is now\u00a0busy\u00a0with activity barely a day after the curfew was lifted.<\/p>\nThe traders in an interview with\u00a0Citi News<\/strong>\u00a0expressed their appreciation\u00a0to government for the decision.<\/p>\n“We expect business to pick up. We also pray that the clashes do not happen again.”<\/p>\n
The traders also acknowledged that security in the area is much better \u00a0as a result of the curfew.<\/p>\n
“When I heard the curfew had been lifted, I was very happy because it was gravely affecting our business. Now that security is very tight at Tafo, I know there will be peace\u00a0here,” another trader indicated.<\/p>\n
