{"id":205951,"date":"2016-04-11T16:14:44","date_gmt":"2016-04-11T16:14:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=205951"},"modified":"2016-04-11T16:14:44","modified_gmt":"2016-04-11T16:14:44","slug":"puma-energy-commissions-aviation-fuel-station-kia-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/04\/puma-energy-commissions-aviation-fuel-station-kia-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"Puma Energy commissions aviation fuel station at KIA (photos)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Global mid and downstream energy company, Puma Energy has commissioned a new aviation fuel storage station at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-205953\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/5.jpg\" alt=\"5\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The station, which is designed to take 15,400 metric cube of aviation fuel is also aimed at making Ghana a hub for aviation fuel in the West African sub-region.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-205955\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/4.jpg\" alt=\"4\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a ceremony in Accra, the Chief Operating Officer for Puma Energy Africa Christophe Zyde stated that the company is operating in partnership with Blue Ocean Investments in the storage business and UBI Petroleum in the downstream sector.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-205956\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/2.jpg\" alt=\"2\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Ghana we have built partnerships with local players \u2026Blue Ocean Investments and UBI Petroleum in order to increase the fuel storage capacity of Ghana and to bring efficiencies and enhance economic growth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-205957\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/6.jpg\" alt=\"6\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He disclosed that the company has been supporting Ghana\u2019s fuel industry for close to 10 years through the construction and operation of the CBM import system.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-205958\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/10.jpg\" alt=\"10\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He stated that the company through Blue Ocean Investments has built two additional storage terminals at Tema Ridge and Takoradi.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-205960\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/11.jpg\" alt=\"11\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe increased capacity and security of supply provided by our investments into aviation storage at KIA and Tema Ridge means that Ghana can optimize its positioning as a hub for aviation in West Africa,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-205960\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/11.jpg\" alt=\"11\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On his part, the General Manager for Puma Energy in Ghana, \u00a0Myles Bouvier-Baird assured that the company will maintain high standards and invest in clean fuel storage.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the company has a reputation for achieving significant economies of scale and operating efficiently, which translates into competitive costing, managed risk, secured supply and seamless delivery.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-205961\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/9.jpg\" alt=\"9\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Applauding the company for investing in Ghana, the Minister for Transport, Mr. Fiifi Kwetey stated that\u00a0 Ghana has a huge potential of becoming an aviation hub in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe expect that the increase in fuel will translate in an upsurge of \u00a0air traffic to boost Ghana\u2019s potential for trade and economic growth\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-205963\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/3.jpg\" alt=\"3\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to him, the increase capacity will also provide security of supply at the airport.<\/p>\n<p>By: Lawrence Segebfia\/citibusinessnews.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Global mid and downstream energy company, Puma Energy has commissioned a new aviation fuel storage station at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra.
