An executive of the Klottey Korle Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on the leadership to resolve the case involving the incumbent Member of Parliament, Nii Armah Ashietey and Dr. Zanetor Agyemang Rawlings.<\/p>\n
Alhaji Bashiru Nii Narh Alema, the Constituency Chairman said many party loyalists in the constituency have\u00a0expressed their disappointment in view of the fact that the differences between the two had led to the ineffective organisation of the party to retain the seat in the 2016 election.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”Tjc5kgeVr7CmHQw1aFIrGxM7uSPDCiPb”]He said other contestants like Mr. Philip Addison of the New Patriotic Party, Nii Noi Nortey, an Independent Candidate, and Madam Eva Lokko of the Progressive People\u2019s Party (NPP), were seriously campaigning to capture the seat while the NDC was fighting in court.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen two elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers,\u201d Alhaji Alema said, adding that the situation had created the impression that the NDC was not effective in the constituency.<\/p>\n
He advised the foot-soldiers not to undermine each other but to do all they could to ensure Victory for the NDC in the November elections.<\/p>\n
Alhaji Alema called on the youth who were getting discouraged by the court case to stand firm pending the final determination.<\/p>\n
Mr. Justice Amarlai Tetteh, the Constituency Treasurer, told the GNA that it was only through collaboration between the supporters and constituency executives that the NDC could achieve its target in the election.<\/p>\n
He warned against activities that were becoming detrimental to the progress of the party and called on the foot-soldiers to exercise restraint while the leadership intervened to resolve the matter.<\/p>\n
The incumbent MP, Nii Armah Ashietey, is in court because according to him, Zanetor is not a registered voter and thus her election must be declared null and void.<\/p>\n
