An Accra High Court has em-paneled a 7-member jury to try the murder case involving Gregory Afoko, brother of former New Patriotic Party Chairman, Paul Afoko.<\/p>\n

Gregory Afoko has been charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit crime and murder of the late Upper East Regional Chairman of the NPP, Adam Mahama.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”kRfYnxADvuuYJZk1gRn3eIlqVNrqp8Su”]He together with his alleged accomplice, one Asabke Alangdi who is\u00a0 on the run, have been accused of pouring a substance believed to be acid on the former NPP regional chairman which led to his death.<\/p>\n

During proceedings in\u00a0court today [Tuesday], Mr. Afoko\u2019s lawyer, Israel Ackah, called on the jury to carefully assess the case at hand and deliver a just verdict.<\/p>\n

Afoko denied bail several times<\/strong><\/p>\n

Afoko on a number of occasions sought bail at the Magistrate Court but\u00a0was denied.<\/p>\n

His lawyers had argued that he had been incarcerated for far too long and that his personal liberty was at stake.<\/p>\n
