{"id":203566,"date":"2016-04-01T15:24:51","date_gmt":"2016-04-01T15:24:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=203566"},"modified":"2016-04-01T15:24:51","modified_gmt":"2016-04-01T15:24:51","slug":"woman-tracks-down-sperm-donor-and-marries-him","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/04\/woman-tracks-down-sperm-donor-and-marries-him\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman tracks down sperm donor and marries him"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A woman has spoken of how she\u00a0tracked down the sperm-donor father of her child &#8211; before the pair fell in love and got married.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">British-born Australian Aminah Hart gave birth to daughter Leila following\u00a0IVF treatment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Despite never having met him,\u00a0Ms Hart chose cattle farmer Scott Andersen, 45, as a donor because he described himself as &#8220;happy and healthy&#8221;,\u00a0according to the\u00a0<em>Mirror<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Using the internet, Ms Hart was able to track down Mr Andersen, who\u00a0also teaches Australian\u00a0rules football.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She decided to contact him through the formal channels\u00a0of the IVF clinic, allowing him to turn down a request for contact.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr Andersen was not legally obliged to meet\u00a0Leila until she turned 18.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, upon seeing a picture of his biological daughter, who strongly bears his resemblance, he agreed to connect with her.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following a period of\u00a0email correspondence, Mr Andersen met both mother and daughter in Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After the meeting, the pair went on to have a relationship and married two years later.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWhat happened to Scott and I is such a random thing,\u201d Ms Hart told <em>Channel Nine<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cHe was basically just a brief profile on a piece of paper. He could have been anyone.\u00a0The fact that we met and we liked each other and we fell in love and all of those things are still so far-fetched to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr Andersen said that he first agreed to the meeting in order to see Leila but later developed feelings for Ms Hart.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Two other children she gave birth to from previous relationships, Marlon and Louis, both died at a very young age.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She later found out she had a rare genetic disorder which only\u00a0affected male offspring.<\/p>\n<div class=\"dnd-widget-wrapper context-sdl_editor_representation type-video\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"dnd-caption-wrapper\">World&#8217;s first IVF puppies born<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThey were very sick little boys but had very distinct personalities,\u201d Ms Hart told the <em>Mail Online<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThey were human beings and I just wanted to pay tribute to them because they are kind of how I got here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cYou can\u2019t really put it into words. I had two relationships and two children but it wasn&#8217;t until the second one that I got a diagnosis of the genetic disorder.\u00a0I did set out to have a family the conventional way and if I didn\u2019t have them I wouldn\u2019t have Leila or Scott.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI would have never been looking for a sperm donor or thought to go through IVF to have a baby on my own.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ms Hart\u2019s story, recorded in a book, is also due to be turned into a film.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Source: Independent\/UK<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A woman has spoken of how she\u00a0tracked down the sperm-donor father of her child &#8211; before the pair fell in love and got married.
