Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, has launched a scathing attack on President John Mahama saying he is making life difficult for Ghanaians.<\/p>\n
According to the leader and founder of the National Democratic Party (NDP), there is nothing to show for President Mahama\u2019s claim of transforming Ghana and changing lives.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the party\u2019s Greater Accra Regional rally, she said government has failed in delivering on its social contract with the citizenry.<\/p>\n

Violence is when you have violated us, when we have given you our mandate to run a country efficiently and effectively and you are able to disrupt the lives of Ghanaians but you can tell us you are changing our lives. Yes indeed you are changing our lives, but not for the better.\u201d<\/p>\n
She further called on intellectuals to speak against the difficulties being experienced by Ghanaians.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhere are our intellectuals, where are our opinion leaders? Let them give you the cars, take it, maybe it\u2019s your right but voice out, open your mouth and speak out because if you don\u2019t speak out today, tomorrow you have to hold your peace forever,\u201d Mrs. Rawlings added.<\/p>\n
We pay taxes to be protected<\/strong><\/p>\n Nana Konadu recently\u00a0unleashed a series of attacks on the President Mahama led administration.<\/p>\n She had earlier in the year lambasted government for doing little to protect Ghanaians despite collecting taxes from the people.<\/p>\n According to her, the seeming rise in the rate of violent crime and murders in Ghana raises doubts about the ability of the state to protect the lives and property of its citizens.<\/p>\n She further called on government to do more to ensure the safety of Ghanaians.<\/p>\n Mahama insensitive <\/strong><\/p>\n Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, had also described President Mahama as insensitive following the recent hikes in utility and fuel prices.<\/p>\n She said the fuel price hikes has further worsened the plight of the many Ghanaians who struggle to make ends meet.<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n By: Godwin A.
