The President of the Korle Bu Senior Staff Association, KOSSA, Charles Offei Palm, is accusing the management of the hospital of unlawfully interdicting him.<\/p>\n

He claims that the acting Director of Human Resource of the hospital was coerced to sign his interdiction letter for a possible promotion.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”K1oCcV0Ihkx6WwszHxCOfkXWopyb8sYk”]Mr. Offei Palm\u2019s interdiction follows renewed allegations he made against the hospital\u2019s management on an Accra based radio station.<\/p>\n

He is said to have re-echoed claims that the hospital\u2019s board and CEO have mismanaged finances, leading to a shortage of drugs and other essentials.<\/p>\n

The \u201cInterdiction Letter\u201d did not state the specifics of the Dr. Offei-Palm\u2019s purported false comments but indicated that, \u201cpronouncements made during the said interview tarnished the image of the Hospital and also brought the name of the Hospital into disrepute.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr. Offei Palm told Citi News<\/strong> he will head to court to fight his interdiction.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will personally seek redress. I am not surprised at all\u2026.They had been planning this for a very long time. You will notice that they went to court to secure the injunction and they have been trying to find any other means to get me out.”<\/p>\n

KOSSA, Management impasse\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

There has been a long standing impasse between the management of the hospital and the Senior Staff Association of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, (KOSSA) over the management of the hospital\u2019s finances.<\/p>\n

KOSSA has accused the management of financial malfeasance but the latter has denied the\u00a0claims.<\/p>\n

About ninety percent of the members KOSSA earlier passed a vote of no confidence in the\u00a0Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Dr. Gilbert Buckle, after accusing him of mismanaging the hospital\u2019s internally generated funds and paying needless judgment debts while neglecting the welfare of staff of the hospital.<\/p>\n

KOSSA\u2019s call for his resignation was supported by members of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association at\u00a0Korle-Bu.<\/p>\n

The two groups\u00a0are currently in court over disciplinary proceedings being taken against the leadership of KOSSA.<\/p>\n
