The Minister of Education, Professor Jane Nana Opoku Agyemang has charged managers<\/span><\/span><\/span> of industries to be prepared to train graduates from the tertiary institutions across the country for\u00a0the job market.<\/p>\n This follows widely-held perception that majority of university graduates are not trained to suit the job market; leading to rising levels of graduate unemployment in the country.<\/p>\n Speaking to\u00a0<\/b>Citi News <\/strong>however, \u00a0the Minister refuted this\u00a0saying<\/span>, “I don\u2019t believe our graduates are useless, I take very strong exceptions to these comments,<\/span>\u201d she said.<\/p>\n She opined that graduates who are deemed useless may “need is a little push and a little help but we know they are not materials we cannot use.\u201d<\/p>\n She also took the opportunity to encourage industries to disclose their preference to the Education<\/span>\u00a0Ministry to enable them include them in the curriculum.<\/p>\n The President, John Mahama<\/span><\/span> on Monday called for greater collaboration between industry and academia to ensure graduates are trained for the needs.<\/p>\n According<\/span> to him, the collaboration will reduce the rising figures of unemployed graduates in the country<\/p>\n He made this known during a two-day national conference on bridging gap between education, training and industry.<\/p>\n A communiqu\u00e9 issued at the end of the conference called for an urgent review of Ghana\u2019s educational system to allow tertiary institutions produce all rounded students who will easily fit into the job market.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n By: Benjamin Epton Owusu\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Minister of Education, Professor Jane Nana Opoku Agyemang has charged managers of industries to be prepared to train graduates from the tertiary institutions across the country for\u00a0the job market.
