The Police have directed its Regional, Divisional and District Commanders across the country to put in place adequate measures to ensure the safety of Ghanaians during the Easter period.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026Adequate security arrangement has been made to provide protection for lives and property during the upcoming Easter festival across the country,\u201d a statement from the Police said.<\/p>\n

The statement further assured merry makers who would visit the famous Kwahu area to mark the Easter season of enhanced security.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith particular reference to the Kwahu Easter, the Police wishes to assure celebrants and the public that a large number of Policemen and women have been deployed to the Kwhau scarp to provide security and maintain law and order.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Police also cautioned trouble makers to desist from such acts because they will not be spared if arrested.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this regard, the public are, hereby advised to desist from using trade plates- DV and DP number vehicles or unregistered vehicles and motorbikes at the place. All such unregistered vehicles and motorbikes will be impounded and their drivers and riders arrested for prosecution.The Police Administration, however, wishes to entreat the public – both celebrants and natives of the area to co-operate with the Police to ensure a peaceful event.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Director of Police Public Affairs, Superintendent Cephas Arthur in an interview with Citi News said the Police will provide an enable environment to make the Easter celebration very peaceful in the country devoid of any disturbance.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know Kwahu is synonymous to Easter. At every Easter a lot of people throng Kwahu to celebrate. It compounds issues of security. It is up to the Police to provide an enabling environment on the scalp to enable celebrate merry makers to celebrate in peace without any hindrance.\u201d<\/p>\n
