The team of workers lift boxes and work in unison, evoking images of &#8220;the Borg&#8221; from <em>Star Trek<\/em>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Assist Suit AWN-03\" src=\"http:\/\/rack.1.mshcdn.com\/media\/ZgkyMDE2LzAzLzE5L2I4L2JvcmcxLmQxMTE5LmdpZgpwCXRodW1iCTEyMDB4OTYwMD4\/6a14f48a\/b7c\/borg1.gif\" alt=\"Assist Suit AWN-03\" data-credit-link=\"\" data-credit-name=\"Panasonic \" data-credit-label=\"\" data-credit-provider=\"Custom type\" data-caption=\"\" data-width=\"465\" \/><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But this isn&#8217;t science fiction, it&#8217;s the very real future of factory work in Japan and the exoskeleton is called the Assist Suit AWN-03. Equipped with a battery that lasts up to eight hours, the company markets the device as lightweight (just 13 pounds) and easy to strap on.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Assist Suit AWN-03\" src=\"http:\/\/rack.2.mshcdn.com\/media\/ZgkyMDE2LzAzLzE5LzQyL2V4bzEuZWY4OWMuZ2lmCnAJdGh1bWIJMTIwMHg5NjAwPg\/2f98afd0\/e68\/exo1.gif\" alt=\"Assist Suit AWN-03\" data-credit-link=\"\" data-credit-name=\"Panasonic \" data-credit-label=\"\" data-credit-provider=\"Custom type\" data-caption=\"\" data-width=\"471\" \/><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The company also claims that the exoskeleton can reduce the strain on your back when lifting by up to 33 pounds. So is the the future of factory work, or will companies just deploy more robots to handle such tasks?
