{"id":200033,"date":"2016-03-18T19:21:59","date_gmt":"2016-03-18T19:21:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=200033"},"modified":"2016-03-18T19:21:59","modified_gmt":"2016-03-18T19:21:59","slug":"tigo-cash-records-phenomenal-growth-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/03\/tigo-cash-records-phenomenal-growth-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Tigo Cash records phenomenal growth for 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Telecommunication Company, Tigo, has recorded a quintuple-digit growth in total transactions for its mobile money solution, Tigo cash between 2014 and 2015.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Total transactions for the period increased from an estimated\u00a0\u00a07.9 million to over 35 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tigo attributed the massive increase to what it referred to as, \u201ccontinuous investment in product enhancement and empowerment of agents to educate customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the General Manager for Tigo Cash, Kwame Oppong, \u201cLower barriers of entry coupled with our strong drive for mobile wallet adoption and improved value chain were major contributors to the high number of transactions we chalked last year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He added, \u201cWe are happy to be at the forefront of financial inclusion in Ghana, and we will continue to offer innovative payment solutions for customers and businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kwame Oppong also explained that the company\u2019s aim is to further drive its cashless agenda by helping customers see and experience the clear tangible benefits of digital payments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe believe in an economy where citizens can transact all types of business transactions online or via phone.\u201d He noted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tigo Cash has since it was launched in 2011, grown outstandingly, catering for millions of Ghanaians and has been ranked as the most preferred mobile money wallet by traders, famers and several others in the informal sector.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The money wallet not only provides customers with the opportunity to use their mobile phones to send and receive money, but enables purchase of airtime, even for other Mobile Networks Operators, and payment of goods and services such as DSTV bills.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Credit: Tigo Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Telecommunication Company, Tigo, has recorded a quintuple-digit growth in total transactions for its mobile money solution, Tigo cash between 2014 and 2015.
