{"id":198419,"date":"2016-03-12T16:48:11","date_gmt":"2016-03-12T16:48:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=198419"},"modified":"2016-03-12T16:48:11","modified_gmt":"2016-03-12T16:48:11","slug":"asesewa-police-intercept-bus-435-parcels-wee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/03\/asesewa-police-intercept-bus-435-parcels-wee\/","title":{"rendered":"Asesewa Police intercept bus with 435 parcels of \u2018wee\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"itemIntroText\">\n<p>The Asesewa Police in the Upper Manya District in the Eastern Region has intercepted a benz bus with eight bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.<\/p>\n<p>The bus, with the registration number GR 9953 F, was heading towards Koforidua.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"itemFullText\">\n<p>Two persons, Ebenezer Zotovi, 35, an assistant to the driver, and James Botherha, 44, said to have supplied the parcels, have been arrested and currently assisting the police in their investigations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Briefing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the Asesewa District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police, Mr Kofi Ahiatafu, the bus, which was loaded with charcoal, was intercepted during a routine patrol by the police.<\/p>\n<p>He said it was during a search that the police found the dried leaves in eight bags containing 435 parcels.<\/p>\n<p>The commander said Zotovi, during interrogation, claimed that he loaded the parcels of Indian hemp onto the bus at the blind side of the driver after Botherha brought the parcels to him\u00a0 to be given to a recipient, whose name is being withheld.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caution<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mr Ahiatafu warned the general public against illicit trading in drugs and said the police would continue to crack down on such people.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arrest<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In another development, 15 people were arrested at Asesewa for driving without licences.<\/p>\n<p>This follows an operation mounted by the police.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Ahiatafu said the exercise would continue until sanity prevailed on the roads<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Source: Graphic Online<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Asesewa Police in the Upper Manya District in the Eastern Region has intercepted a benz bus with eight bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
