{"id":197622,"date":"2016-03-09T18:43:33","date_gmt":"2016-03-09T18:43:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=197622"},"modified":"2016-03-09T18:43:33","modified_gmt":"2016-03-09T18:43:33","slug":"rising-to-the-top-top-female-ceos-advise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/03\/rising-to-the-top-top-female-ceos-advise\/","title":{"rendered":"Rising to the top : Top female CEOs advise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Chief Executive Officer of the Women\u2019s World Banking Ghana, Charlotte Lily Baidoo has urged young ladies to be determined in their quest to become successful career women.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to her, being able to surmount the challenges that come along with being a woman in a male dominated business world will largely depend on a lady\u2019s ability to work hard at attaining it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Charlotte Baidoo was speaking on a special edition of <strong>Citi Fm\u2019s<\/strong> <strong>Business Today<\/strong> which focused on successful business women in commemoration of this year\u2019s International Women\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_45603\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-45603\" style=\"width: 495px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/business.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Charlotte-Baidoo.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-45603\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-45603 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/business.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Charlotte-Baidoo.jpg\" alt=\"Charlotte Baidoo - CEO,Women's World Banking Ghana\" width=\"495\" height=\"330\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-45603\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Charlotte Baidoo &#8211; CEO,Women&#8217;s World Banking Ghana<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIf the challenges are many for you, what you have to do is to find alternatives and move on, as a young lady obviously, I went through these challenges, but I can say that all the work that I have done, I had seen them in the newspapers, she said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cYou do not need to know anybody, since I got here without knowing anybody, I don\u2019t see why I should give in to any male partner or boss to get anything, I determined to work hard and allow my work speak for me, Charlotte Lily Baidoo added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chief Executive Officer of technology firm, Edel Technologies, Ethel Cofie attributed women\u2019s inability to rise to the top to society\u2019s orientation which has made women subservient to their male counterparts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cYou will have to work harder to get women get these opportunities\u2026 there is a feeling of maybe too much, and I shouldn\u2019t be seen pushing too much, we are taught that just be good enough or be perfect as a result we don\u2019t go after the opportunities that will take us to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_45604\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-45604\" style=\"width: 463px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/business.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Ethel-Cofie.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-45604\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-45604 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/business.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Ethel-Cofie.jpg\" alt=\"Ethel Cofie - CEO,Edel Technologies\" width=\"463\" height=\"330\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-45604\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ethel Cofie &#8211; CEO,Edel Technologies<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ethel further bemoaned the low patronage of local technologies which she cited as a challenge to the growth of the technology business.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe big players in the market are hesitant to use local technology while SMEs adopt local technology; this is partly due to past experiences that they are not happy about and the use of one man teams to build softwares for your companies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A third panelist, Mabel Simpson, the CEO of accessories firm, Msimps, advised on the need to identify a partner who shares in the dream of the entrepreneur\u2019s business ideas. According to her, a partner who does not believe in a woman\u2019s ideas will ultimately collapse the business idea and the success of the lady.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_45605\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-45605\" style=\"width: 418px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/business.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Msimps.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-45605\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-45605 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/business.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Msimps.jpg\" alt=\"Mabel Simpson - CEO, Msimps \" width=\"418\" height=\"330\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-45605\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mabel Simpson &#8211; CEO, Msimps<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cYou all need to understand where you are going, once you know that then you understand you need to support each other.
