{"id":196602,"date":"2016-03-07T06:00:56","date_gmt":"2016-03-07T06:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=196602"},"modified":"2016-03-07T06:00:56","modified_gmt":"2016-03-07T06:00:56","slug":"gati-foundation-awards-pupils-schools-ketu-north","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/03\/gati-foundation-awards-pupils-schools-ketu-north\/","title":{"rendered":"Gati Foundation Awards Pupils and Schools in Ketu North"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As part of\u00a0efforts to improve the dwindling academic performance in the Ketu North District of the Volta Region, the Gati Foundation has awarded some pupils and schools at its 6<sup>th<\/sup> Academic Excellence Awards held in Penyi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The annual awards is aimed at motivating basic school pupils in the district to pursue academic excellence and also foster healthy competition among schools, pupils, and teachers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;ot1eVXBp8VcjMd6MpTchDHVXA7aWE2RH&#8221;]Over 350 pupils drawn from 67 schools competed, out of which seven emerged winners.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first prize winner Fiakuna Christian, from Kporkuve JHS received GHC 700, a certificate, books and souvenirs as well as packs of pen, a set of jersey and a football for his school.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Two pupils from Vehem Mawunyo International School in Dzodze ,Danyo Godwin and Tuglo Ebenezer who had the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 4<sup>th<\/sup> positions respectively went home with certificates, books and cash prizes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Others were Ahiataku Maclean and Adika Prince from Mawuli School complex, Dzodze, as well as Borkorvi Shelter and Danyo Maxwell from Mac Tetteh Int. School, Dzodze and King of Glory Int School,Penyi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vehem Mawunyo International School was adjudged the best school in the district.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In an interview with <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, Economist and Founder of the foundation, Dr. John Gatsi, admonished the pupils in the region to continue to work hard and make good use of the opportunity offered\u00a0them.
