{"id":193682,"date":"2016-02-26T16:28:23","date_gmt":"2016-02-26T16:28:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=193682"},"modified":"2016-02-26T16:28:23","modified_gmt":"2016-02-26T16:28:23","slug":"nana-addo-presents-real-state-of-the-nation-monday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/02\/nana-addo-presents-real-state-of-the-nation-monday\/","title":{"rendered":"Nana Addo presents &#8216;real state of the nation\u2019 Monday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo Addo, has announced he will deliver what he calls \u201cThe Real State of the Nation\u201d on Monday, February 29.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nana Addo made this announcement on Twitter earlier today [Friday].<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">I&#8217;m inviting YOU to join me as I present &#8220;The Real State of the Nation&#8221;. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/AriseForChange?src=hash\">#AriseForChange<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zPYmgY9GDM\">pic.twitter.com\/zPYmgY9GDM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Nana Akufo-Addo (@NAkufoAddo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NAkufoAddo\/status\/703199791828762624\">February 26, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><script src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI\u2019m inviting you to join me as I present \u2018The Real State of the Nation,\u201d the tweet said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nana Addo\u2019s presentation will be held at the Ghana College of Physicians &amp; Surgeons at 10:00am on the scheduled date.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">on Thursday February 26, President John Dramani Mahama delivered his last state of the nation address for his first four-year \u00a0touting the achievements of his government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among other things, the President focused on major achievements made by his government in the health sector, education and energy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said his administration had fulfilled the promise he made at a similar address in 2015, to fix the power crisis (Dumsor) which plagued the nation, collapsing businesses and rendering many jobless.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The minority in Parliament said the President&#8217;s address was filled with half-truths, with the acting NPP Chairman Freddie Blay also describing it as disappointing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, Mr.\u00a0Freddie Blay, who witnessed the nearly four-hour address, said the\u00a0President said nothing, describing it as mediocre and disappointing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI must say from my own experience that I have heard a lot of State of the Nation Addresses, but\u00a0this from my perspective is the most disappointing\u2026 it is the most disappointing State of the Nation address I have heard in this house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr. Blay said there was very little substance in the President\u2019s presentation, explaining that\u00a0every government undertakes development projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He added that comparing the revenue available to the NDC administration and what it had done over the years, it cannot compare to former President\u2019s administration who he had little funding.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Jeffrey Owuraku Sarpong\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo Addo, has announced he will deliver what he calls \u201cThe Real State of the Nation\u201d on Monday, February 29.
