Like many Ghanaians, I have heard with shock and dismay the news of the sudden death of the Chairman of the National Development and Planning Commission and Senior Adviser to the President, Mr. Paul Victor Obeng.

P.V Obeng, who was an engineer, businessman and politician, played a prominent role in the public life of our country these last four decades and, despite our political differences, he and I maintained a good personal relationship.

Ghana has lost a distinguished son.

My sincere condolences and sympathies go to his family, the Government and the National Democratic Congress for their loss.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.
