{"id":193210,"date":"2016-02-26T11:00:11","date_gmt":"2016-02-26T11:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=193210"},"modified":"2016-02-26T11:00:11","modified_gmt":"2016-02-26T11:00:11","slug":"ho-urban-management-project-to-be-ready-in-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/02\/ho-urban-management-project-to-be-ready-in-june\/","title":{"rendered":"HO urban management project to be ready in June"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Resident Engineer of LAMDA Consult, a consulting firm in charge of the GUMP Projects (Ghana Urban Management Pilot Project), Kofi Hayford, says the project will be completed by\u00a0June this year, after initial hiccups that nearly scuttled work on the much anticipated project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Mahama on Monday May 7, 2012, launched the 40.5 million Euros pilot programme funded by Agence Fran\u00e7aise de D\u00e9veloppement (AFD) to improve the living conditions in urban areas for inhabitants of the four selected cities of Kumasi, Sekondi-Takoradi, Tamale and Ho.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;YunLJOqNpbQsO1ry4h8kaJgeLxTEl0cr&#8221;]The Ho Project comprise the construction a modern abattoir, an engineer landfill site, and reconstruction of the Ho Central market at a cost of 28 million Ghana cedis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-193249 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/GUMP-3-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"GUMP 3\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-193247 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/GUMP-1-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"GUMP 1\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following its launch in Ho, the project suffered delays for almost four years which according to government, was due to \u201cbureaucratic\u201d processes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But during a recent inspection tour by the Volta Regional Minister, Hellen Adjoa Ntosu, the Engineer at the site hinted that facilities would be ready for use by June this year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cHopefully, we would be completing the project in June. So far we are about 62% done. The structural framework is the most tedious work, but now the structural framing is done.
