A New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Aspirant for the Klottey Korle Constituency, Nii Noi Nortey, says he will triumph over the National Democratic Congress\u2019 Parliamentary Candidate if he emerges the winner in the party\u2019s Saturday primary.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can beat Zanetor, but we would have to work hard to beat her,\u201d he said in a Citi News<\/strong> interview.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”Qu2G0mi5qisbpiShYNDGkeAPd84TfX5R”]Dr. Zanetor Rawlings, daughter of former President Jerry John Rawlings, was elected as the Parliamentary Candidate for the NDC in Klottey Korley.<\/p>\n Nii Noi Nortey on the other hand, is also vying to lead the NPP in the area, after a poll \u00a0that elected him as the parliamentary candidate, was annulled by a court.<\/p>\n The court made the order after the two persons who contested him challenged the results.<\/p>\n In that election, Nii Nortey polled 393 votes, while Philip Addison and Nii Adjei Tawiah polled 22 and 19 votes respectively.<\/p>\n Nii Nortey’s contender, Philip Addison on the other hand, has said he will beat the former President’s daughter should he emerge winner in Saturday’s primary.<\/p>\n But even Dr. Zanetor Rawlings has a lawsuit hanging on her neck, as the party’s incumbent\u00a0MP, Nii Armah Ashietey, who she convincingly beat in last year’s primary, is challenging her election in court.<\/p>\n I\u2019m bitter about primary re-run<\/strong><\/p>\n Speaking to Citi News<\/strong>, Nii Nortey said although he feels bitter about the election re-run, he is hopeful he will emerge the winner on February 27.<\/p>\n \u201cWe all feel bitter about it but like I said, victory comes from God; and the Bible tells us hard work pays. The delegates on the ground know what they want, after my victory, the whole party must unite\u00a0in the constituency and work towards victory come November 7,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n By: Godwin A.
