The acute water shortage that has hit the Nsawam municipality for more than a month now is taking a toll on inmates at the Nsawam Prisons.

Most of the boreholes the inmates now rely on as their only source of drinking water have broken down, worsening their plight.

In the last few days, the Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing, has moved in to construct two boreholes in the interim for residents of the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipality, following Citi News’ consistent reportage of the challenges there.

But in the prison, authorities are recording an increase in the number of skin diseases as a result of the water shortage.

Citi News’ Pearl Akanya Ofori visited the prison and has filed this report.
