Hundreds of Nigeriens in Ghana took part in the country’s polls held over the weekend.<\/p>\n

The Nigeriens living in Ghana voted to elect a president for the country and legislators to represent them in the Assembly.<\/p>\n

They voted at eighty polling stations in Ghana.<\/p>\n

The Representation of the People Amendment Act, was enacted in 2007 to allow Ghanaians living abroad to vote in Ghana’s General elections but the law has since not been implemented.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Citi News<\/strong> the Nigerien Ambassador to Ghana Danana Isha, said Ghana will be on the right path should it decide to allow its citizens in the Diaspora to vote.<\/p>\n

According to Ambassador Isha, they allowed their citizens in the diaspora to vote because \u201cthey will be represented at the Assembly.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it is a good thing for Ghana to allow its citizens in the diaspora to vote,\u201d the Nigerien Ambassador said.<\/p>\n
