Koku defends EC Chairperson?<\/strong><\/p>\n Mr. Anyidoho in explaining the party\u2019s position on the matter also suggested that it was not possible for the EC Chairperson to know the status of Dr. Karl Marx Arhin \u00a0in the NDC.<\/p>\n He added that\u00a0the NDC was engaged with pressing issues and could not have been bothered with the appointment, adding that the NSS did not inform the party because they were not obliged to do so.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is a fact that Dr. Arhin is a Deputy Director of International Relations for the party and also works in state a institution which is the NSS. So that Secretariat sent him upon the EC\u2019s request, so how will Madam Charlotte Osei know that Dr. Arhin is the Deputy Director of International Relations for the NDC? So as a responsible political party, of course not because the NSS consulted the NDC and they didn\u2019t have to, but once it came to the fore, we took a decision yesterday [Tuesday] and communicated to Dr. Kpessah Whyte to respectfully withdraw Dr. Arhin and put someone else there to speak and stand for the NSS; that\u2019s it\u201d, he explained.<\/p>\n This he said they did by writing to the acting NSS Head Dr. Michael Kpessah Whyte.<\/p>\n According to Mr. Anyidoho, the NDC did nothing wrong by allowing\u00a0Dr. Karl Marx Arhin to be appointed onto a committee whose membership is expected to be neutral.<\/p>\n LMVCA\u2019s pressure<\/strong><\/p>\n Dr. Arhin’s withdrawal from the committee follows massive pressure from pro-opposition group the Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA) over what it calls a bias composition of the members of the National Election Steering Committee.<\/p>\n The National Service Scheme (NSS) is one of several independent institutions that nominated persons to the committee.<\/p>\n According to the EC, it will need the support of the NSS in conducting the November polls since some service personnel are likely to be engaged.<\/p>\n NSS did no wrong<\/strong><\/p>\n Acting National Service Secretariat Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Kpessah Whyte, has rubbished claims that they deliberately appointed Dr. Arhin onto the committee.<\/p>\n But Dr. Kpessah Whyte told Eyewitness News Host, Richard Dela Sky on Wednesday that the brouhaha over Dr. Arhin\u2019s appointment to the committee is needless, insisting that the NSS did no wrong in making that appointment.<\/p>\n Committee must still be dissolved<\/strong><\/p>\n The committee was inaugurated on Monday, but Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA) wants it dissolved over the inclusion of Dr. Karlmax Arhin and others who they accuse of being affiliated to the NDC.<\/p>\n Also speaking on Eyewitness News, the Convener of the pressure group Let My Vote Count Alliance, David Asante, insisted that removing Dr. Arhin from the committee does not make it credible.<\/p>\n According to him, other members on the committee are also known members of the NDC, demanding that the entire committee be dissolved and reconstituted.![\"Charlotte](\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/charlotte-Osei.jpg\")
