{"id":190337,"date":"2016-02-16T12:33:21","date_gmt":"2016-02-16T12:33:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=190337"},"modified":"2016-02-16T12:33:21","modified_gmt":"2016-02-16T12:33:21","slug":"owners-of-204-bags-of-wee-to-be-arraigned-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/02\/owners-of-204-bags-of-wee-to-be-arraigned-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"Owners of 204 bags of \u2018wee\u2019 to be arraigned [Photos]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two hundred and\u00a0four\u00a0bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp have been found in several houses at Apeisika, a farming community in the Kwahu East District of the Eastern Region.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Nkawkaw Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Joseph Osafo Peprah, when the Police got to the community at dawn last Friday, \u201cwe found 204 bags of the substances after just about two hours of searching through community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Nkawkaw Divisional Police will today [Tuesday] arraign eleven farmers including five women for the possession of the dried leaves at the Mpraeso Circuit Court in the Eastern Region.<\/p>\n<p>The eleven are part of about seventeen suspects who were apprehended at Apeisika, a farming community in the Kwahu East District for possessing the substances believed to be Indian hemp locally known as \u201cwee\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects include five females and six males.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-190345 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Weeds-6-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Weeds 6\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Chief Superintendent Joseph Osafo Peprah explained that the two hundred and four\u00a0bags of the substances were found in about twenty one households after the police embarked on a dawn swoop last Friday following a tip off.<\/p>\n<p>He added that because the substances were a lot, the Kia truck which transported them to Nkawkaw had to do two separate trips.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-190344 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Weeds-5-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Weeds 5\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-190342 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Weeds-4-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Weeds 4\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Supt. Peprah indicated that, \u201cAs part of our preparations towards the Easter celebration which will bring many people into Kwahu and its environs, the police has started embarking on swoops and our intelligence led us to activities of a farming community called Apeisika,\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-190341 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Weeds-3-1024x764.jpg\" alt=\"Weeds 3\" width=\"620\" height=\"463\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-190340 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Weeds-2.jpg\" alt=\"Weeds 2\" width=\"700\" height=\"522\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The farmers are believed to have cultivated the substances themselves and stocked them for onward distribution across the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe people are farmers and not business men, so they were just stocking the substances and expect buyers from other parts of the country\u201d Supt.
