The suspect arrested for allegedly killing Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North constituency, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu, has told investigators that he went in the MP’s house\u00a0to steal but ended up\u00a0killing him in self-defense.<\/p>\n

According to the charge sheet, the suspect, Daniel Asiedu, 19, said \u201che went there to steal but in the process, the deceased woke up and held him.<\/p>\n

He said in a struggle with the deceased, he pulled out his knife and stabbed him several times before he became weak and fell down.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”47WYlPJnGuHalN7MkKAC3ITjOg9D7HQh”]JB Danquah was killed\u00a0about a week ago at his residence at\u00a0Shiashie in Accra, where he lived with his family.<\/p>\n

The Police after painstaking investigations arrested Daniel Asiedu last Thursday, after which he confessed to the crime.<\/p>\n

He was sent to court on Tuesday, February 16, where he has been charged with murder.<\/p>\n

How suspect killed JB Danquah<\/strong><\/p>\n

The charge sheet reads that, Daniel Asiedu went to the residence of JB Danquah at about 1:00am with \u201ccatapult, a cutter and a sharp knife\u2026[went] through the iron fence at the blind side of the security man who was fast asleep.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe suspect picked a ladder in the house and climbed to the porch of the top floor and entered the bed room through the window whilst the deceased was sleeping. Suspect began to search the room but deceased woke up and held him. He stabbed deceased on the right chest above the breast. Deceased held the knife and shouted for help but no one came. The suspect pulled the knife through the deceased hands creating a deep cut in his palm.<\/p>\n

\u201cDeceased who was bleeding profusely fell by his bed helpless and the suspect stabbed him again on the right chest below the breast. Suspect realizing that the deceased was alsmost dead left him and took away his two iphones and a tablet. Suspect managed to descend from the top to the back of the house and climbed one of the poly tanks in the house and jumped over the electric fence into the adjoining house and escaped,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n
