For more than a month, residents of the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipality and surrounding communities have lived without water.\u00a0\u00a0 Their taps are not flowing.\u00a0\u00a0 This is because the Densu River which serves\u00a0 the community is drying up.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0 situation\u00a0 has been attributed to the dry weather condition\u00a0 and other human activities such as illegal mining and farming along the banks of the river.<\/p>\n
Residents forced to drink from here<\/strong><\/p>\n Residents, mostly women and children have no choice than to either walk or drive several miles\u00a0 just to get\u00a0 the bank of the tributary of\u00a0 the\u00a0 Densu\u00a0 River to fetch water .<\/p>\n Some of them (especially school children) have to abandon classes early in the morning\u00a0 to fetch water.\u00a0 The situation is taking a toll on academic work in some schools in the area.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
