The Ministry of Water Resources Works and Housing, has asked the National Security and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), to complement its efforts in the supply of potable water to residents of Nsawam and its environs.<\/p>\n
The residents of Nsawam Adoagyiri have no access to potable water for more than a month due to the drying up of the River Densu.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”QGAV27SFBoUSSmeuVj90yCxNhpPHgPVg”]Some residents have been left with no choice but to drink from a contaminated tributary of the Densu River.<\/p>\n
The River is suspected to have dried up due to farming and illegal mining activities along the river bank coupled with the dry harmattan conditions.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Citi News<\/strong>, the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Water Resources Works, Abraham Otabil, said his ministry has commenced\u00a0the distribution of water to essential service institutions in the area.<\/p>\n \u201cThrough the Ghana water company, we have provided tanker services to some the key institutions like hospitals and schools within the communities to catch up with the situation. We have\u00a0also provided some water services to some communities within the Nsawam municipality.
