{"id":189730,"date":"2016-02-16T06:00:24","date_gmt":"2016-02-16T06:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=189730"},"modified":"2016-02-16T06:00:24","modified_gmt":"2016-02-16T06:00:24","slug":"kia-terminal-3-construction-begins-in-february","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/02\/kia-terminal-3-construction-begins-in-february\/","title":{"rendered":"KIA Terminal 3 construction begins in February"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President John Mahama is expected to cut sod for the construction of the new Terminal at the Kotoka International Airport which will be known as Terminal 3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The sod cutting <strong>Citi Business News<\/strong> understands, will be at the end of February 2016.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;7F1LZlYdsVRbBEKtE2BLeeleT2Plh5Y8&#8243;]This comes after the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) last year secured a loan of 250 million dollars for the construction of Terminal 3, at the Kotoka International Airport by a consortium of banks led by Ecobank Capital.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The completion of Terminal 3 is to expand facilities at the Kotoka International Airport to accommodate the increasing passenger throughput and increasing number of airlines servicing the KIA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In an interview with <strong>Citi Business News,<\/strong> Chief Director of the Ministry of Transport,Twumasi Ankrah Selby said, the contractor for the project was already on site mobilizing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThere is some refurbishment going on at the terminal 2, now the arrival hall has been done and we are looking at other works as well. But with the new terminal 3, the clearing work is currently ongoing as the area was initially being used by some other agencies and operators.But they have been relocated to allow for the project to commence,&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The contract has been awarded and the site has been handed over to him as he is mobilizing.
