The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) on Monday took delivery of medical equipment and consumables valued at about US$100,000 to enhance the quality of care.<\/p>\n
These included hospital beds, incubators, mattresses, syringes, bandages, tables, blankets and bed sheets.<\/p>\n
They were a gift from the Asanteman Association of Carolinas in the United States of America (USA).<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”KKnRGON9r4OP1xQJSYgMqSAqGLxBdIEW”]Ms. Doris Gyamfi, an Executive Member of the Association, who presented the items said it was their contribution towards improving the quality of medical care received by patients.<\/p>\n
She pledged further assistance saying they would continue to provide the referral facility with some of its needs.<\/p>\n
Dr. Joseph Akpaloo, Chief Executive Officer of the Hospital, said they were grateful for the gesture, adding that, the items could not have come at a better time.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that the facility\u2019s quest to become a centre of excellence in quality health care delivery, demanded the support of everybody – individuals, groups and organizations.<\/p>\n
Dr. Akpaloo said it needed more assistance by way of the supply of equipment, drugs and consumables improve its services.<\/p>\n
