The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Samuel Atta Akyea, has described the death of his colleague, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu as contract killing.<\/p>\n
According to him, the circumstances surrounding the Tuesday dawn\u00a0killing points to the fact that it was executed by individuals with ill-intent.<\/p>\n

Five persons including two women, and three men, have been arrested in connection with the murder\u00a0of MP for Abuakwa North, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu.<\/p>\n
The five includes\u00a0a private security guard who was in the house on the day of the incident. The others are said to be residents of the house, but the police did not give further details about their identity.<\/p>\n
Speaking after a visit to the residence of the late MP, Mr. Atta Akyea said, \u201cIt should be obvious to everybody that this is contract killing.\u00a0We trust that very soon, it will come to the fore as to who is responsible for this dastardly act of murder.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr. Atta Akyea also called for the security of MPs to be beefed up, describing the lack of security afforded MPs as embarrassing.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is an embarrassment to even describe this issue because the MCEs and DCEs have security. The judges of the superior court have security and the ministers too have security including deputy ministers; so we are end of the joke because we do not matter to government that\u2019s why we are not provided with security.\u201d<\/p>\n
He further expressed that hope that the circumstance surrounding the unfortunate death of Mr. Danquah-Adu\u00a0would push government to provide better security to MPs.<\/p>\n
\u201cProbably the death of this man will wake them up that indeed and in fact, if it\u2019s not good at all we should have night and security policemen.\u201d<\/p>\n
Neighbors claims<\/strong><\/p>\n In an interaction with some neighbors of the late MP, they told Fred Djabanor that they heard about the struggling between the MP and his attackers, which forced them out of their homes only to find out that he had been killed.<\/p>\n They claimed to have seen a ladder behind the late MP\u2019s bedroom, which they suspect was used by the assailants. According to them, they saw a man run out of the house but he could not use the main entrance because they had by then called in the police who were stationed at the gate waiting to enter.<\/p>\n About J.B Danquah <\/strong><\/p>\n The late Joseph Boakye Danquah, once served as a Deputy Minister for Women and Children\u2019s Affairs. He was the Abuakwa North MP from 2000 until 2008, when he lost the seat to the NPP\u2019s Prof. Samuel Amoako. He returned in 2012 to win the seat.<\/p>\n He left behind\u00a0a wife and two children.
