{"id":187719,"date":"2016-02-07T12:32:57","date_gmt":"2016-02-07T12:32:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=187719"},"modified":"2016-02-07T12:32:57","modified_gmt":"2016-02-07T12:32:57","slug":"boy-bathed-with-acid-lauds-runaway-girlfriends-arrest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/02\/boy-bathed-with-acid-lauds-runaway-girlfriends-arrest\/","title":{"rendered":"Boy bathed with acid lauds runaway girlfriend&#8217;s arrest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eric Ohemeng, the third year GIMPA student whose girlfriend poured acid on him because he jilted her, has in an exclusive interview with <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, lauded her\u00a0arrest.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ohemeng, who has been battling for his life in the last seven months, spoke to <strong>Citi News<\/strong> a day after the Esther Enyonam Pekyi who had been \u00a0escaping arrest since the horrendous act,\u00a0was picked up through the efforts of Citi FM.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She\u00a0was arrested by the Police on Saturday after painstaking investigations, with intelligence from <strong>Citi News<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;cXvYyQqFkci3K777vuH2SPLflhO1qDuN&#8221;]Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>,\u00a0Eric \u00a0Ohemeng said &#8216;it is unimaginable and unthinkable for anyone to think of hurting a human being with acid.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He explained that a brief misunderstanding between them led to the attack.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;We had a brief misunderstanding and I didn&#8217;t even expect it to go this far because we were cool thereafter so I\u2019m still wondering what went into her to do that,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said\u00a0her arrest would be a lesson to the public to desist from using the chemical as a revenge tool on persons who may have offended them mostly in love relationships.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He added that his family is elated about her\u00a0arrest.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Although her arrest may not bring me 100% health, I trust and believe that her arrest will indeed save more lives,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Backgroud<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Police on Saturday <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2016\/02\/06\/woman-fugitive-who-poured-acid-on-boyfriend-nabbed\/\" target=\"_blank\">arrested Esther Enyonam Pekyi<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, who poured volumes of acid on Eric Ohemeng last year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esther Enyonam Pekyi disappeared after pouring the harmful chemical\u00a0on Eric Ohemeng in June 2015, for\u00a0ending their relationship.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Citi News\u00a0investigates <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ever since the news broke, <strong>Citi News<\/strong> has been following up on the whereabouts of the suspect after the Madina Divisional Police Command failed to pursue\u00a0her despite several tip offs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Citi News<\/strong> together with some friends of the victim and the Police spent several months looking for the suspect who was rumuored to be hiding in Togo, and at some point at Aflao in the Volta Region and later, Kasoa in the Central Region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Her arrest followed days of planning and collaboration between Citi News and a team of Police detectives at the Accra regional Police Command who were sanctioned by the Regional Commander to make the operation a priority A meeting was earlier arranged between the suspect\u00a0and\u00a0victim at Dansoman whereupon the police moved in.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Citi News in the company of a team of undercover detectives, identified the suspect and arrested her when she got down from a taxi to meet her ex lover.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Visibly shocked after arrest <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esther Enyonam Pekyi was visibly shocked after\u00a0her arrest and looked on helplessly as the team of undercover agents whisked her away. She is currently in the custody of the Accra Regional Police Command pending further investigations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, the Greater Accra Regional Commander, COP George Akuffo Dampare, will address the media on the arrest on Monday.
