<\/p>\nThe Ghana Cook Book, a manuscript that contains various recipes of Ghanaian dishes has been launched in Accra.<\/p>\n
The Ghana Cookbook\u00a0was the Gourmand World Cookbook award winner for Ghana, and is now entered in the Gourmand Best in the World competition for “Best African cuisine published outside of Africa.<\/p>\n
The book, which was authored by Barbara Baeta and Fran Osseo- Asare .<\/p>\n

Barbara Baeta in a media interview described the book as one of the best that contains all Ghanaian dishes including soups, porridges, fried foods, steamed dishes, stews, roasts, cakes, biscuits, bread and special party dishes.<\/p>\n
Barbara Ba\u00ebta, owner and founder of Flair Catering, Ltd., a catering agency and cooking school, was one of the first professionally trained caterers in Ghana. She is considered a national treasure in Ghana and has been showcasing the country and its food to foreign guests for decades. In 2009 her company catered a meal (breakfast for 600) served to President Obama during his state visit to Ghana.<\/p>\n
Fran Osseo-Asare MSW, PhD, is an internationally recognized expert on sub-Saharan African cuisine and Ghanaian cuisine in particular. She is author of several books on African cooking and culture including A Good Soup Attracts Chairs (Pelican Publishing, 1993, 2001), and Food Culture in Sub-Saharan Africa (Greenwood Press, 2005). She has also written for publications such as Gastronomica, Soujourners, bSpirit, and Food, Culture and Society.<\/p>\n
A popular speaker and teacher, she was invited as a TED Fellow to represent African cuisine in Arusha, Tanzania in 2007 at TEDGlobal: Africa, the Next Chapter. She resides in State College, PA.<\/p>\n
The book is now available in Accra at\u00a0Wild Gecko, and also at\u00a0Vidya Bookstore\u00a0in Osu.<\/p>\n
