In an effort to enhance the savings culture of Ghanaians, GN Bank, one of the largest universal banks in terms of assets in Ghana and beyond, has introduced a unique product known as People\u2019s Gift Promotion campaign targeting all segments of the Ghanaian society.<\/p>\n

Senior officials of the bank say the campaign is a savings mobilization drive which is part of a larger promotion to create awareness on the need for personal financial knowledge in Ghana.<\/p>\n

According to them, the campaign aims at raising deposits and creating awareness on the bank\u2019s basket of savings products, principally the ‘Wo Daakye’<\/em> and ‘GN Savings accounts’<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Citi Business News<\/strong> at the first draw of the Peoples Gift Promo, Chief Executive Officer of GN Bank, Patrick Anumel bemoaned the low savings culture among Ghanaians rejecting claims of lack of liquidity in the Ghana market.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe main reason why we did this was to inculcate in our customers the habit of savings. If people say liquidity is not available it doesn\u2019t mean the money is not there, but what it means is that they do not have the extra money available to do savings. But now we decided to help them begin to consider saving no matter how little it is.\u201d He observed.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile General Manager in charge of Operations, Mr. Allen Quaye has appealed to the general public to take advantage of the promotion to enable them win the grand prize of a brand new Ford Focus, a trip to South Africa for two with $2000 spending money and a cash prize of GH\u00a215,000.<\/p>\n

The draw which is a customer deposit promotion is used by the bank to mobilise customer deposits and reward customers with exciting and juicy prizes in eight mini draws in four zones covering the Central and Western regions; Greater Accra, Eastern and Volta regions; Ashanti and Brong Ahafo regions and the Northern, Upper West and Upper East regions with a grand draw scheduled to be held in May 2016.<\/p>\n

To enter the promotion, customers are expected to deposit GH\u00a2200 into their new or existing GN Bank savings or current accounts.<\/p>\n

Customers can\u00a0also increase their chances in the draw by depositing multiples of GH\u00a2200 into any of the bank\u2019s deposit products including ‘Wo Daakye’, ‘Sika Dua’, ‘Kiddy Save’<\/em> and the ‘Susu’<\/em> accounts.<\/p>\n
