The newly elected Presidential candidate of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Ivor Greenstreet has vowed to drag Samia Nkrumah and others before the party’s Disciplinary Committee to prove allegations of bribery against him.

Two of the presidential aspirants, Samia Nkrumah and Bright Akwetey accused him of influencing delegates with GHc200 and GHc500 cedis to vote for him.

[contextly_sidebar id=”oGrAD9OVdwOzFpKjQLqwXZ2uM31o1VnK”]In an exclusive interview with Citi News, Ivor Greenstreet rejected the accusations and said he will press for the party’s leadership to deal with the two.

“I bribed them with my loyalty, I bribed them with my commitment, I bribed them with my service …I can assure you that there is absolutely no basis of fact in those allegations. Let them bring the evidence. It is unfortunate because we all need to come together and the party is bigger than Ivor Kwesi Greenstreet and it is bigger than all those who contested me and lost, and the party is Supreme.

“In previous elections, we’ve been eternally divided and that is the cause of our failure. Unfortunately they [opponents] didn’t make it but I made it and I am going to pursue this campaign with energy, with innovation, with a new desire to make a difference in our politics,” said Greenstreet.

He stated that though there might be divisions within the party, he will ensure the party enters the upcoming November election on a united front.

“I don’t think it will be difficult to rally them ahead of the elections. Maybe these are the initial discordant sounds you may be hearing. I haven’t listened to what they have to say and I haven’t had a chance to make a determination and I don’t want to be critical of people even if they are being critical of me.

“The fact of the whole matter is the Convention People’s Party is a big party with a big history and a great tradition about providing real solutions and opportunities to Ghanaians…”
