{"id":18613,"date":"2014-05-14T19:12:37","date_gmt":"2014-05-14T19:12:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=18613"},"modified":"2014-05-14T19:46:22","modified_gmt":"2014-05-14T19:46:22","slug":"bukom-banku-fails-weigh-in-session-ahead-of-bout-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/05\/bukom-banku-fails-weigh-in-session-ahead-of-bout-video\/","title":{"rendered":"Bukom Banku fails weigh-in session ahead of bout [Video]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The much anticipated bout between Braimah Kamako a.k.a Bukom Banku and Ayittey Powers took an interesting twist on Wednesday as Banku failed to meet the weight class for the cruiserweight bout.<\/p>\n<p>Kamoko weighed eighteen pounds above the stipulated 200-pound limit for the bout while Powers weighed exactly 200 pounds.<\/p>\n<p>However, the President of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Peter Zweenes, said Banku would still be permitted to fight because of the non-title nature of the bout even though failure to meet the weight limit would attract a deduction from his fight purse.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_18588\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18588\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/IMG_7316.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18588\" alt=\"Bukom Banku\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/IMG_7316.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/IMG_7316.jpg 640w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/IMG_7316-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-18588\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Bukom Banku<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Both Boxers seemed buoyant and all fired up when they converged at the Ohene Djan Sports stadium on Wednesday for their respective weigh-in session.<\/p>\n<p>Their arrival was met with cheers and chants of war songs as they thrilled the numerous fans gathered at the Ohene Djan stadium with their funny gestures and mannerisms before mounting the weighing machine.<\/p>\n<p>All roads will now lead to the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday evening with the gates set to open at 5pm .
