Ghanaian musician Ekow Alabi Savage has officially tied the knot with Sharon Marley, Bob Marley’s daughter.<\/p>\n

The marriage ceremony came off at a private family location in Accra, Ghana on Tuesday, May 13, 2014.<\/p>\n

The Marley Family was represented by Dr. Erica Bennett, Ambassador for the Diasporan African Forum (DAF), who stood in for\u00a0 Rita Marley, Sharon\u2019s mother.<\/p>\n

She advised Ekow to ensure Sharon never has a reason to cry by referring to the late legends ‘no woman, no cry’ song.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Marley family is an iconic family, and they welcome you into their family. And they have allowed you to be part of their (Marley) family. They asked me to give you a message \u2013 No Woman, No Cry \u2013 they don\u2019t want to see any tears in her eyes. The tears she\u2019s shedding today are tears of joy, but there should never, never, ever, be any tears of sorrow. I will like to raise this glass and make a toast for Mr. and Mrs. Savage; may you have health, happiness and wealth,\u201d Dr. Bennett said.<\/p>\n

Administrator of Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Daddy Bosco who was the MC for the wedding praised the union, stating that:<\/p>\n

“A huge history has been made in Ghana with this marriage because it stands as the\u00a0first and direct African marriage bonded to the Marley family. It will go a long way to solidify the connection of Ghana and Jamaica. Bob Marley himself in songs have always wanted to be back to the motherland, we have his wife Nana Rita with us and now Sharon too has followed the trend. In other words, it will also go a long way to give the Ghana Reggae industry and the entire music and cultural sector a lot of good,\u201d Daddy Bosco\u00a0said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
