Court activities in the country will\u00a0grind\u00a0to a halt on Wednesday following a directive by the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) to its members to participate in Organised Labour demonstration.<\/p>\n

JUSAG in a statement directed its members to comply with the directive in a bid to force government to scrap the energy levy on petroleum products and a reduction in utility prices.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”mdki6H53hBbVf1fAn6CtbMZKr8nFAM6O”]The statement further urged all members of the association, its national executives and regional executives to comply with order.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll members of JUSAG shall join the nationwide demonstration at their respective regions. Members are to put on our JUSAG lacost and re-arm-bands\u2026.Also all Regional Executives to partake in meetings of Organised Labour in the respective regions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, JUSAG has called on security personnel at the various courts \u201cto remain at post to ensure protection and safety of Judicial Service property.\u201d<\/p>\n

Organised Labour following the hikes in utility prices and petroleum products demanded for a 50 percent increase in salaries of public sector workers but several meetings between the body and government have failed to yield any positive results.<\/p>\n

They have subsequently set out a roadmap including a demonstration and industrial action to force government to succumb to their demand.<\/p>\n
