{"id":181487,"date":"2016-01-13T12:30:57","date_gmt":"2016-01-13T12:30:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=181487"},"modified":"2016-01-13T12:30:57","modified_gmt":"2016-01-13T12:30:57","slug":"awake-water-supports-korle-bu-cardio-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/01\/awake-water-supports-korle-bu-cardio-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"Awake water supports Korle Bu Cardio centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Producers\u00a0of Awake mineral water have donated an amount of GHc20, 000 to the Cardiothoracic Centre at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the company they are striving to donate about GHc100, 000 annually to the centre to finance surgeries of patients with heart diseases who cannot pay for such services.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/awake-donates-to-cardio-centre-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-181489 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/awake-donates-to-cardio-centre-2.jpg\" alt=\"awake donates to cardio centre (2)\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kasapreko Company limited, a renowned Ghanaian beverage-producing firm, launched Awake purified mineral water few months ago to focus on changing lives in the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the company, part of the amount made from the sale of the mineral water will be channeled to the cardiothoracic centre to help save more lives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking at a short donation ceremony, Group Chairman of Kasapreko, Dr. Kwabena Adjei said the company produced the Awake mineral water for two reasons; to refresh Ghanaians and save lives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/awake-donates-to-cardio-centre-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-181490 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/awake-donates-to-cardio-centre-3.jpg\" alt=\"awake donates to cardio centre (3)\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While urging citizens to patronize the water, Dr. Adjei also pledged to donate GHc10, 000 monthly from his private coffers to the centre for the next six months.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Receiving the cheque, the Director of the National Cardiothoracic Centre, Dr. Lawrence Serebour bemoaned the spate of heart related diseases recorded by the facility.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He lamented that the number is usually made up of children, adding that the trend is very worrying.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Serebour further called on benevolent organisations to emulate Awake water.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cHaving a heart disease is not a problem but having the means to the cure\u2026So let\u2019s all support to save lives,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Godwin A.
