The Convention Peoples\u2019 Party (CPP) has started the vetting process of flagbearer aspirants for the November general elections.<\/p>\n
Four persons, former Jomoro MP; Samia Yaba Nkrumah, the party\u2019s former Secretary; Ivor Greenstreet, Legal Practitioner; Bright Akwetey and Joseph Agyapong, successfully filed to contest for the slot.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”ClvOWC1Ehbu5MpyZntq9rhe6FFaEbLAE”]In an interview with Citi News<\/strong>, the CPP\u2019s General Secretary, Nii Armah Akomfra, said the party\u2019s vetting panel has been constituted and work had commenced.<\/p>\n Mr Akomfra indicated the Chairman and a Secretary has been chosen for the committee and they are currently working and examining documents.<\/p>\n The actual vetting of the aspirants is likely to begin tomorrow, he added.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t believe that today they would be meeting any of their aspirant today. More than likely, I think that will be tomorrow,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n According to Mr Akomfra, the vetting process is scheduled to end on Friday, January 15 giving the committee ample time to receive petitions and gather relevant information.<\/p>\n He said, \u201cThe vetting is between the 12th<\/sup> and the 15th<\/sup>.
