Some angry youth of Nkoranza North, in the Brong Ahafo Region, have assaulted the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Kojo Agyei Dwomoh, over what they claim is his failure to assist them retrieve their monies locked up in some financial institutions.<\/p>\n
The desperation of the affected customers of the investment companies, DKM and Jaster Motors and Investment, has heightened in recent times with people resorting to violent means to demand their cash.<\/p>\n
DKM is struggling to pay depositors their funds after the central bank lifted a moratorium on its operations.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”OyinggKEflVWXToTBPJxNxDrjeJph5RE”]There have been series of street demonstrations and invocation of curses and the boycott of state functions by affected customers, especially the people of Nkoransa who are the worst hit.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, a Three-year old daughter of Daddy Brown, a sports Presenter of Jerryson FM, a private station at Nkoransah whose owner is the CEO of Jastar Motors and Investment Company, was kidnapped by one of the customers to force them to return his money.<\/p>\n
It took the effort of the presenter and his men to trace the kidnapper to Techiman, where\u00a0the child was rescued with the help of the police.<\/p>\n
The suspect has since been arrested and is to be prosecuted soon.\u00a0But things came to head on Monday, when some aggrieved youth thronged the premises of a privately owned digital Television Station, ATV, to interrupt a live telecast which had the DCE as a guest, after they accused him of making some uncomplimentary remarks on the subject matter.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0violence continued on at a consultative forum \u00a0on\u00a0Tuesday, which was to discuss the way forward for the retrieval of monies from\u00a0the companies.<\/p>\n
