{"id":179206,"date":"2016-01-05T12:47:31","date_gmt":"2016-01-05T12:47:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=179206"},"modified":"2016-01-05T12:47:31","modified_gmt":"2016-01-05T12:47:31","slug":"angry-recruits-to-sue-armed-forces-for-wrongful-dismissal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/01\/angry-recruits-to-sue-armed-forces-for-wrongful-dismissal\/","title":{"rendered":"Angry recruits to sue Armed forces for \u2018wrongful dismissal\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some of the 500 recruits who were dismissed by the Ghana Armed Forces for rebelling against what they termed strenuous training, say they plan to sue the \u00a0Army.<\/p>\n<p>According to <strong>Citi News<\/strong> sources, the recruits are heading to court to compel the Army to reinstate them.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0statement from the Ghana Armed Forces, said the training of the 500 recruits was terminated after they staged an unauthorized assembly and subsequently marched to their instructor\u2019s accommodation to demand that they send them home.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;ETGyLkGpkIUdew0UFrRDyJK65MTcC1X2&#8243;]This was after the recruits had described their training as strenuous and constitutes maltreatment.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the latest development, Human Rights Lawyer, Francis Xavier Sosu says he is not surprised at the turn of events.<\/p>\n<p>He told <strong>Citi News<\/strong> the Ghana Army opened up itself to lawsuits following its wholesale dismissal of the five hundred recruits.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt raises concern for those who were not involved or directly participated in the said insubordination but were affected by the decision.
